The Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran offensive lineman Sam Mustipher on Thursday to bolster the team's interior depth following the retirement of Trystan Colon. The move comes two days after the franchise placed Colon on the reserve/retired list, creating an immediate vacancy on the roster.
Mustipher brings significant experience to the unit, having logged 44 career starts across five NFL seasons. His primary tenure occurred with the Chicago Bears, where he started 41 games between 2020 and 2022. Since departing Chicago, Mustipher has held stints with the Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, and Denver Broncos, primarily serving as a center.
The acquisition provides the Jaguars with a familiar depth option behind current starter Robert Hainsey. The two players previously served as teammates at the University of Notre Dame. Mustipher's arrival is expected to stabilize the interior rotation as the team navigates the remainder of the offseason program.
