After being asked to bat first, India posted a formidable total of 219 runs for five wickets. Ishan Kishan was a standout performer, scoring an impressive 81 runs from 44 balls. Tilak Varma provided crucial support, contributing an unbeaten 60 runs from 29 deliveries. Their partnership yielded 94 runs off just 44 balls, significantly boosting India’s total against Zimbabwe's bowling attack.
