Longbow Motors to Initiate Electric Vehicle Production in Warwickshire

Longbow Motors will commence production of its limited-edition electric Speedster at the Mira Tech Park in Nuneaton starting next year. The project is supported by a £3 million investment from the West Midlands Supplier Readiness and Transformation fund, which the manufacturer has committed to match.

The initiative is projected to generate over 200 skilled positions within the region. The company intends to leverage local supply chains and engineering expertise to facilitate the production of both the Speedster and a subsequent Roadster model.

This development aligns with regional efforts to accelerate the transition to electric vehicle manufacturing. While the firm targets a production capacity exceeding 10,000 units annually, the venture remains focused on the low-volume, high-margin segment of the automotive market. The project serves as a test case for the viability of specialized, lightweight electric vehicle manufacturing within the United Kingdom's existing industrial infrastructure.
