Google has begun rolling out Snapseed 4.0 for Android, bringing the photo-editing app’s redesigned interface and camera features to the platform. The update follows a major Snapseed release on iOS in June 2025 and is now widely available on Android as of Friday asourcesernoon, according to the source.
Redesigned interface and workflow
Snapseed 4.0 refreshes the Android app with a new homepage grid that surfaces photos previously edited in Snapseed. Editing is organized into three bottom tabs—Looks, Tools, and Export—mirroring the updated approach on iOS.
Snapseed Camera comes to Android
A key addition is Snapseed Camera, which lets users capture photos using custom styles or “film looks,” including real-time effects that can be edited or reset later. The camera also includes a “Pro” mode with manual controls for ISO, shutter speed, and focus.
The update includes film-emulation styles inspired by classic stocks such as Kodak Portra and Fuji Superia.
No subscriptions or ads
Google says Snapseed continues to offer “30+ pro tools and filters” with no subscriptions, purchases, ads, or watermarks. The broader update is positioned as making the editing process “smoother and more intuitive,” with expanded customization through favorited tools.
