Former Vikings tight end and broadcaster Joe Senser dies at 69

Joe Senser, a former tight end for the Minnesota Vikings who later worked as a radio analyst for the team, died on May 20, 2024. He was 69.

Senser entered the NFL as a sixth-round drasources pick in 1979, but his playing career was cut short by a knee injury. His standout season came in 1981, when he recorded 79 receptions for 1,004 yards and eight touchdowns.

Asourceser his time on the field, Senser moved into broadcasting and served as a radio analyst on Vikings game broadcasts in 1993 and 1994, and again from 2001 through 2006.

The Vikings acknowledged Senser’s impact on the franchise and in the community, noting his Pro Bowl selection and his involvement in charitable efforts.
