Nestle India Revenue Growth Slows to $800 Million as Inflation Bites
Nestle India faces slowing growth and inflationary headwinds, leading to a market correction despite strong margin expansion and sustained urban demand.

Nestle India reported Q2 FY27 revenue of approximately $800 million, reflecting a 20.5% year-on-year growth. While domestic sales grew by 20.4%, the overall growth rate has decelerated from the 25.4% peak observed in the previous quarter.
Despite the revenue expansion, the company’s stock experienced a 7.7% decline following the earnings release. Market participants appear to be pricing in a potential slowdown in growth momentum as the benefits of a low base effect and previous regulatory adjustments diminish.
Operational costs remain a primary institutional risk, with food inflation driven by volatile commodity prices, including cocoa, sugar, and edible oils. The company has countered these pressures by increasing advertising expenditure by 46% year-on-year, while simultaneously expanding EBITDA margins by 195 basis points to 23.8%.
Analysts anticipate that while the firm remains better positioned than rural-heavy competitors due to its urban-centric, premium product portfolio, valuation premiums of 55x earnings relative to the 35x sector average may constrain near-term share price performance.
