Senegal's Early Lead Fades

Senegal initially established a commanding 2-0 lead through goals from Habib Diarra in the 25th minute and Ismaila Sarr in the 51st minute. The African nation controlled much of the regulation period, striking the woodwork twice and limiting Belgium’s attacking opportunities. However, the momentum shifted significantly in the final four minutes of regulation time.

Late Goals Force Extra Time

Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans scored consecutive goals for Belgium, leveling the match and forcing it into extra time. The decisive penalty for Belgium was awarded following a video assistant referee (VAR) review after Lamine Camara committed a foul on Tielemans.
