Bank of America faces $30.69 billion sales test in Q3
Analysts expect higher revenue and earnings, but the stock has fallen in 2026 as investors reassess large-bank momentum before results.

Bank of America is expected to report $30.69 billion in third-quarter revenue on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data cited in an Oct. 13 Benzinga market preview.
The estimate compares with $28.24 billion a year earlier, while analysts expect earnings per share of $1.11 versus $1.06 in last year’s third quarter, Benzinga said.
The report gives Bank of America a chance to test investor appetite for large U.S. bank stocks after a weaker start to 2026. Benzinga reported that the shares were down 1.2% to $53.94 in Tuesday trading, leaving them 3.6% lower for the year but 10.4% higher over the past 52 weeks.
The earnings hurdle is high because Bank of America has a recent record of exceeding Wall Street forecasts. The company has beaten analyst revenue estimates in four consecutive quarters and in nine of the past 10 quarters, according to Benzinga Pro data cited by Benzinga. It has topped earnings-per-share estimates for 16 straight quarters.
Freedom Capital Markets Chief Market Strategist Jay Woods said in a weekly newsletter cited by Benzinga that second-quarter strength among large banks did not hold share prices near their highs. “The upbeat mood last proved to be short-lived,” Woods said.
Woods said investors will focus on whether higher interest rates keep supporting lending profits, whether initial public offerings rebound and what banks say about consumers and the broader economy. “If the banks paint an optimistic picture while credit quality remains strong, it could reinforce the narrative that the economy is proving far more resilient than many expected,” he said.
Recent analyst ratings cited by Benzinga show a mixed but still constructive Wall Street view. TD Cowen reiterated a Hold rating with a $60 price target. UBS maintained Buy and cut its target to $67 from $70.
JPMorgan, Evercore ISI and Truist Securities each lowered their targets to $62, while maintaining Overweight, Outperform and Buy ratings, respectively.
Investors also are expected to look for management comments on Bank of America’s artificial-intelligence tools, including the AskGPS Intelligence Hub. Benzinga said AskGPS, launched in 2025, is used by about 3,000 employees.
JPMorgan Chase, a large U.S. banking peer, missed analyst estimates for both earnings and revenue on Tuesday, according to Benzinga. Bank of America is scheduled to release third-quarter results before the market opens on Wednesday.
