Compass Lexecon gets 2 leaders in FTI North America revamp

FTI Consulting said in an Oct. 13 press release that Adel Turki became president and Niall H. MacMenamin deputy president of Compass Lexecon, its economic consulting subsidiary.

The North America leadership change affects a unit of FTI Consulting, which reported $3.8 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue and had more than 8,100 employees as of June 30.

The appointments move day-to-day leadership into two named roles while Daniel Fischel, previously president and chairman of Compass Lexecon, stays as chairman. FTI said Fischel will concentrate on client ties, recruitment, mentoring and long-term strategy.

Compass Lexecon advises law firms, corporations and government clients on antitrust and competition matters, securities litigation, finance, valuation, damages analysis, regulatory issues and complex commercial disputes. The firm has more than 600 professionals in 23 offices worldwide, according to the release.

As president, Turki will lead Compass Lexecon and set strategic direction, with attention to large clients and business growth. MacMenamin, as deputy president, will work with Turki and Fischel on operating and financial priorities, and with FTI Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Steven Gunby and other senior leaders across the business.

“Adel and Niall are both extraordinary professionals who bring complementary strengths, an understanding of what has made Compass Lexecon great and a shared commitment to driving the firm’s next phase of growth,” Fischel said in the press release.

Gunby said Compass Lexecon has “world-class academic professionals, expert economists, enduring client relationships and a reputation for rigorous economic and financial analysis.” He said Turki and MacMenamin have the experience, judgment and drive to build on that base.

Turki joined Compass Lexecon as a senior managing director in 2017. FTI said he has been retained in hundreds of securities fraud cases involving class certification, merits and damages, and has led teams on complex U.S. securities matters.

His work spans ERISA litigation, merger and takeover disputes, regulatory investigations, derivatives, structured finance and mortgage-backed securities, according to FTI. The company said he has been retained by the SEC and by defendants in matters investigated by the SEC, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Justice Department and the Ontario Securities Commission.

MacMenamin works on antitrust and competition economics, class certification, mergers and acquisitions, consumer protection, intellectual property, valuation, finance and securities matters. FTI said he uses quantitative methods including survey research, field experimentation, conjoint analysis and machine learning to assess liability and damages.

MacMenamin has testified as an expert in state and federal courts and in arbitration, according to the release. His work has included matters involving Meta Platforms, Google, OpenAI, DePuy Synthes, Neist Media and Fisher-Price.

Global Competition Review has ranked Compass Lexecon among leading antitrust economics firms for the past two decades, according to FTI.
