Asian stocks fall as Kospi drops 3.5%
Losses stretched from Dalal Street to Europe, with crude higher and the rupee weaker in a broader risk-off session.

Market data showed Asian equities fell on Oct. 22, with Korea's Kospi closing 3.5% lower, as losses extended from Dalal Street to Europe.
The Hang Seng in Hong Kong closed 3% lower, Japan's Nikkei ended down 2.7% and China's Shanghai Composite lost 1.5%. The declines put India’s equity weakness inside a wider regional sell-off rather than an isolated domestic move.
Kospi leads Asian losses
European shares were also mostly lower in late trading. France's CAC 40 was down 1.4%, Germany's DAX fell 1.1% and the FTSE 100 slipped 0.3%, data showed.
The same market update showed crude prices rose and the rupee weakened, adding pressure to Indian assets. For equities, higher oil and a softer currency can weigh on import-heavy sectors and foreign-investor returns, though the supplied data did not give oil or rupee levels.
The main risk for Dalal Street is whether global equity selling carries into the next cash session.
If the Oct. 23 open shows continued pressure across Asia and Europe, India’s benchmarks may face another session driven more by global risk reduction than domestic corporate news.
