Aaron Rodgers set for Pittsburgh visit as Steelers signing speculation grows

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is scheduled to visit Pittsburgh on Thursday, March 21, according to 93.7 The Fan. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also confirmed the planned trip.

The visit has fueled speculation that Rodgers could sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with 93.7 The Fan reporting he is “expected” to sign this weekend. Rapoport, however, added that no deal is currently in place.

NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk noted the Steelers recently placed the unrestricted free agent tender on Rodgers. The procedural move extends the window for compensatory drasources-pick consideration if he signs with another team and makes it more difficult for him to delay a decision beyond July 22.

For Rodgers and the Steelers, the visit is the first tangible sign of possible movement asourceser months of uncertainty — but, as always in NFL free agency, nothing is official until a contract is signed.
