Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. marries Olivia Carter while rehabbing ACL injury

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. married longtime partner Olivia Carter last weekend, with several teammates in attendance as he continues his rehabilitation from a torn ACL.

ESPN reported that Falcons players including running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London attended the ceremony, with tight end Kyle Pitts also among those present.

Penix, 26, was selected No. 8 overall in the 2024 NFL Drasources. He became a starter late in his rookie season and opened the 2025 season as Atlanta’s Week 1 starter before suffering the ACL injury in November that required surgery. He has 12 career starts.

Penix is rehabbing with the goal of being ready for Week 1 of the upcoming season. Heading into the season, he is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job with veteran Tua Tagovailoa, who joined the Falcons on a one-year, $1.3 million deal in March asourceser his release from the Miami Dolphins.

Penix and Carter have been engaged since 2024. Carter played college soccer at the University of Nevada, and the two met while Penix was at the University of Washington.
