Ubisoft cuts 70 Singapore studio jobs
The retrenchment is tied to a broader cost reset as Ubisoft puts more resources behind established franchises and live-service games.

Ubisoft cut 70 roles in its Singapore game-development team after an internal notice on Oct. 14, Latestly reported in an Oct. 15 news report citing The Straits Times.
For Ubisoft, the 70-role reduction reported on Oct. 15 marks a sizable local retrenchment: the Singapore studio had about 450 employees in 2023, putting the cut at roughly 16% of that earlier headcount, according to Atlas360 calculations.
A Ubisoft spokesperson told The Straits Times, according to Latestly, that the move was intended to bring the Singapore unit’s capacity into line with future development needs while keeping it in the company’s global network.
Latestly reported that Ubisoft is directing more capital toward established franchises and live-service titles, games supported over time through continuing updates and recurring player spending. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege was cited as an example of that focus.
The shift came after Tencent invested €1.16 billion, about SGD 1.67 billion, earlier this year in a Ubisoft subsidiary containing major franchises including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six, Latestly reported.
Ubisoft opened the Singapore site in 2008. The studio moved into a 5,000-square-metre facility in the one-north business park in 2023, when it marked 15 years and employed about 450 people.
The Singapore team led development of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake of a 2013 title that was released in July 2026, according to the report. The game sold more than 3 million units worldwide in its first week, Latestly reported.
The Latestly article did not include a direct Ubisoft statement, severance terms, affected functions or current staffing for Singapore. According to Latestly, management said the local hub will keep working on core production pipelines for international titles.
