Kushner and Witkoff Reach Kyiv for Talks

President Trump's envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff arrived in Kyiv on Sunday, 24 hours after holding talks with President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, officials said.

Officials described the Moscow discussions as "constructive and useful," and said the envoys flew straight to Kyiv to press the case during a fragile three-day truce between Russia and Ukraine.

Officials said the pair were scheduled to meet Ukrainian officials immediately on arrival to discuss the ceasefire and next diplomatic steps. The truce, they said, includes mutual pledges not to attack each other's capitals and remains fragile.

If the Kyiv meetings yield an extension or formalisation of the pause, officials said risk sentiment could ease and open a window for further talks.

If the truce breaks down, officials warned military and market volatility could resume.

The envoys' travel timetable underlines the push for rapid diplomacy: officials said they would hold talks in Kyiv and remain in the region over the next 48 hours for follow-up meetings and briefings. The outcome of that window will determine whether the ceasefire is extended or collapses, officials added.
