Tony Nominations Announced for 2026 The nominations for the 79th Annual Tony Awards were announced on May 5, 2026, in New York City, with musicals The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! each receiving 12 nominations. The announcements were made by Tony nominee Uzo Aduba and Tony winner Darren Criss, with initial categories revealed on CBS Mornings and additional categories on the official Tony Awards YouTube channel.

In the play categories, The Balusters , Giant , Liberation , and Little Bear Ridge Road were nominated for Best Play. Bess Wohl's Liberation recently won the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Revival nominations included Cats: The Jellicle Ball , Ragtime , and The Rocky Horror Show for musicals, and Becky Shaw , Death of a Salesman , Every Brilliant Thing , Fallen Angels , and Oedipus for plays.

Special Tony Awards will be presented to The League of Resident Theatres (LORT), André Bishop, Jules Fisher, James Lapine for Lifetime Achievement, and Mary-Mitchell Campbell with the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award. Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre will also be awarded to 1/52 Project, Jake Bell, Kenn Lubin, and Loren Plotkin. The 79th Annual Tony Awards ceremony, hosted by P!NK, is scheduled for June 7, 2026, at Radio City Music Hall, broadcasting live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ from 8-11 p.m. ET.
