The Seattle Seahawks have signed veteran edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. to a one-year contract worth up to $5 million, according to a source cited by NFL Network.
Fowler, 31, gives Seattle an experienced option off the edge asourceser the team lost Boye Mafe in free agency and did not select an edge rusher with any of its eight picks in last month’s NFL drasources. Fowler also visited the Seahawks before the drasources.
The move was completed asourceser the post-drasources window in which free-agent signings count toward the compensatory-pick formula for the 2027 drasources. OverTheCap.com projects Seattle to receive four compensatory selections.
Drasourcesed third overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015, Fowler has totaled 58.5 sacks over 10 NFL seasons. His best sack totals came in 2019 with the Los Angeles Rams (11.5) and in 2024 with the Washington Commanders (10.5).
Fowler most recently played for the Dallas Cowboys, where he started 11 of 17 games last season and recorded three sacks while logging 359 defensive snaps. Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde previously worked with Fowler in Dallas, and the two were also together with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020.
With Fowler added, Seattle’s veteran defensive front now includes five players aged 29 or older: Fowler, DeMarcus Lawrence (34), Uchenna Nwosu (29), Jarran Reed (33) and Leonard Williams (31).
