Russia Strikes Kyiv Fuel Site After Truce Claim

Russia struck a petrol station in Kyiv on September 15, one of the latest attacks undermining Ukraine's fuel supplies.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported strikes on warehouse facilities, and officials said about 300 petrol stations have been hit in recent months, putting pressure on military logistics and frontline fuel reserves.

The attack came hours after President Trump said Russia and Ukraine had agreed not to target each other’s energy infrastructure; officials noted the timing complicates verification of that reported understanding.

Officials said the strikes have reduced available fuel stockpiles, forced longer logistics runs and increased the vulnerability of convoys refueling front-line units, constraining operational tempo in affected sectors.

Officials added that repairs to fuel distribution points and resupply routes have been intermittent because of repeated strikes on infrastructure and storage nodes.

Local authorities said damage assessments are under way and are expected to be completed by September 16, after which officials plan to publish a consolidated tally of sites damaged and immediate supply shortfalls.
