Nvidia Expands AI Infrastructure Partnership Nvidia, a leading provider of artificial intelligence chips, has expanded its network of partners by entering into an AI infrastructure agreement with IREN. This collaboration, announced on May 8, 2026, involves deploying five gigawatts of AI infrastructure across IREN's data centers.
Under the terms of the deal, Nvidia has secured a five-year right to purchase 30 million IREN shares at $70 per share, representing an investment of up to $2.1 billion. Concurrently, IREN will provide Nvidia with access to cloud services over a five-year period, generating approximately $3.4 billion in revenue for IREN. This strategic move by Nvidia aims to secure demand for its AI processors and optimize the utilization of its surplus cash.
The announcement led to an 11% increase in IREN's premarket stock trading, despite the company reporting fiscal third-quarter revenue of $144.8 million, which fell short of Wall Street estimates of $220.2 million. Nvidia's shares also saw a 1.2% rise in premarket trading. This partnership follows Nvidia's recent investments in other supply chain companies, including Corning, Marvell Technology, and CoreWeave, as it continues to integrate and strengthen its AI ecosystem.
