Manufacturing digitization market may reach $1tn by 2030

ResearchAndMarkets.com said in a Nov. 5 press release that a new report values the global manufacturing digital-transformation market at $357.5 billion in 2024 and projects $1.0 trillion by 2030.

The Nov. 5 ResearchAndMarkets.com press release puts the 2024-2030 compound annual growth rate at 19.1%. The forecast would make the market about 2.8 times its 2024 size, according to Atlas360 calculations.

For manufacturers, the forecast frames digitization as an operating-efficiency investment rather than a software upgrade. The report points to real-time production monitoring, predictive maintenance and remote operations as tools companies use to cut unplanned stoppages and respond to supply-chain disruption.

Robotics is the largest specific segment cited in the release, with ResearchAndMarkets.com forecasting it will reach $370.3 billion by 2030 at a 19.0% CAGR. Industrial internet of things technology, which connects machines and factory assets to data systems, is projected to grow at a 20.8% CAGR over the analysis period.

The United States market is estimated at $97.4 billion in 2024. China is projected by ResearchAndMarkets.com to reach $229.5 billion by 2030, expanding at a 25.0% CAGR.

The 183-page report covers robotics, IoT, additive manufacturing, cybersecurity and other factory technologies across the United States, Canada, Japan, China, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. It features 36 companies, including Siemens, ABB, Microsoft, Rockwell Automation, SAP, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, IBM, Oracle and PTC.

The report also treats trade policy as a planning risk. ResearchAndMarkets.com said the analysis incorporates tariff negotiations and trade developments across more than 180 countries, including sourcing disruption, production relocation and regional realignment in forecasts through 2030.
