Israeli Drone Strike Kills Civilians in Khan Younis

An Israeli drone strike on makeshift tents in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis killed at least two Palestinians, including a young girl, on Saturday. The attack occurred within a designated safe zone, marking a continued escalation of military activity despite an existing ceasefire agreement.

Medical personnel at Nasser Hospital confirmed the fatalities and reported that four additional individuals sustained injuries during the strike. Separately, a 10-year-old child succumbed to wounds sustained in a previous bombardment, bringing the total number of casualties reported by local health authorities in the region over the weekend to three.

The incident follows reports from the United Nations indicating that children constitute approximately 30 percent of the total casualties since the conflict began in October 2023. According to data from the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 1,031 Palestinians have been killed and 3,309 wounded since the ceasefire was established in late 2025. Military operations remain active, with reports of persistent drone surveillance and air raids across southern Gaza.
