Logistics Expansion Targets India’s Emerging Semiconductor Supply Chain
A global logistics provider is investing in specialized semiconductor warehousing in Dholera, India, to support the nation's growing chip manufacturing sector.

A major global logistics firm is establishing a dedicated semiconductor warehousing facility in Dholera, Gujarat, scheduled for operation by August 2027. The project involves an initial investment of approximately ₹50 crore, with potential for a fourfold increase by 2030. This facility is strategically positioned to support the upcoming commercial chip fabrication plant operated by Tata Electronics.
Semiconductor logistics require specialized infrastructure, including climate-controlled clean rooms, electrostatic-proof flooring, and vibration-dampened transport systems. The firm has already begun modifying its fleet with air-suspension technology to meet the precise handling requirements of sensitive semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This investment is part of a broader ₹5,000 crore capital allocation earmarked for the company’s Indian supply chain operations.
The move follows a similar partnership between the Japan-based NX Group and the India Semiconductor Mission to develop domestic logistics infrastructure. While the firm faces competition from established local logistics providers, it maintains a competitive advantage through the transfer of global expertise from established semiconductor hubs in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore.
