CoreWeave shares fall 5.93% after analyst flags debt risk
Shares extended a 15.46% regular-session decline as investors weighed Gil Luria’s downside scenario for the AI cloud company’s equity.

CoreWeave fell 5.93% to $61.88 in after-hours trading on Wednesday, extending a 15.46% regular-session drop, a Benzinga market-data article published Oct. 15 reported.
The move sharpened investor focus on CoreWeave's funding model: combined debt and lease obligations were near $52 billion at the end of June, about 1.4 times its $36.28 billion market capitalization by Atlas360 calculations using Benzinga figures.
D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria said on Wednesday that CoreWeave's equity could be erased if AI spending slows. "The equity value is going to be zero," he said, describing a downside scenario rather than a formal forecast, Benzinga reported.
Luria estimated that CoreWeave borrows at about 9% while earning roughly 1% on its investments. The New Jersey-based company sells cloud-computing capacity used for artificial-intelligence workloads, a business model that requires large spending on data-center infrastructure.
CoreWeave co-founder Brannin McBee defended the company's financing approach in comments to the Financial Times cited by Benzinga. McBee said CoreWeave is seeking cheaper funding from insurers and that heavy spending reflects expansion; if the company stopped building, it would be "immensely cash-flow positive," he said.
The share move followed disclosed insider sales under pre-arranged plans. Securities and Exchange Commission filings showed Chief Financial Officer Nitin Agrawal sold 22,579 Class A shares on Monday at weighted-average prices of $79.954 and $80.5073, for about $1.81 million.
The filings showed Chief Revenue Officer Jonathan Jones sold 37,380 shares on Monday and Tuesday at prices between $76.30 and $80.37, with a total transaction value of about $2.94 million.
CoreWeave's stock traded as high as $150.40 and as low as $60.55 over the past 52 weeks, Benzinga reported. The shares were down 52.76% over the past 12 months.
Atlas360 reported on Oct. 15 that CoreWeave's bonds due in 2031 and 2032 moved near 15%, underscoring investor unease over the company's leveraged expansion model.
