Christian Watson sets 2026 goal: 1,100 yards, 10 TDs after extension

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson has set personal production goals for the 2026 NFL season, saying he wants to top 1,100 receiving yards and reach double-digit touchdowns. Watson outlined the targets after signing a four-year, $92 million contract with the club that includes up to $18 million in incentives.

The 2022 second-round pick (No. 34 overall) has shown flashes as a vertical threat, but his first four NFL seasons have been interrupted by injuries. Watson has missed 20 games over that span, a key reason his overall numbers have not matched his peak stretches of form.

Watson said he typically avoids focusing on totals week to week, but described the yardage and touchdown marks as the type of season he would like to deliver if he is setting a clear personal target. Hitting those benchmarks would also align with the incentive structure built into his new deal.

Why availability is central to the target

The extension signals that Green Bay is betting on Watson’s upside despite the missed time. For Watson, the next step is turning his athletic traits into sustained, week-to-week availability and a consistent role within the offense.

From the team perspective, a healthy Watson producing at that level would provide a major boost to the passing game and help stabilize the receiving workload over the course of a full season.

What the contract details suggest

The possibility of earning another $18 million through incentives places added emphasis on staying on the field and contributing regularly. Incentive-laden structures commonly tie payouts to playing time and production, and Watson’s stated goals frame the type of output that would make the deal a win for both sides.

Watson’s focus will now shift to preparing for the coming seasons with the expectation that he can translate his targets into results if he stays healthy.
