Arsenal edge Atletico to reach first Champions League final since 2006
Arsenal defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 to reach their first Champions League final in 20 years, securing a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Arsenal booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final for the first time since 2006 asourceser a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in Tuesday’s semi-final second leg at Emirates Stadium.
Bukayo Saka’s strike late in the first half proved decisive as Mikel Arteta’s side progressed 2-1 on aggregate, having drawn 1-1 in the first leg in Madrid.
Arsenal will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich in the final, which is scheduled for May 30 in Budapest. PSG take a 5-4 lead into Wednesday’s second leg against Bayern.
The north London club have never won the Champions League. Their major European trophies remain the 1994 Cup Winners’ Cup and the 1970 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
Arsenal are also in the Premier League title race and currently top the table. The club would clinch the domestic crown by winning their remaining three league matches against West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace, keeping alive the chance of a league-and-Europe double this season.
