Alpine F1 Team Appoints Mike Elliott as Chief Technical Officer

Alpine has named Mike Elliott as its Chief Technical Officer, a newly created position designed to centralize technical and engineering leadership at its Enstone facility. The current executive technical director will now report directly to Elliott.

Former Mercedes Executive Joins Alpine

Elliott, who previously served in senior technical roles at Mercedes, is returning to the Enstone factory where he was a principal aerodynamicist when the team operated as Renault and Lotus. His appointment follows Alpine's strategic decision to transition to a Mercedes customer team for the 2026 season.

Accelerating Competitive Development

This organizational restructuring aims to accelerate Alpine's competitive development, with the team currently vying for fifth place in the constructors' championship. The move signals a shift in its technical governance strategy as it seeks to close the performance gap to the top four constructors.
