The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 8, 2026, denied allegations published in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronot that UAE forces had struck a water treatment plant in Iran. These claims emerged following attacks launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28.
A senior UAE official told The Jerusalem Post that these allegations were untrue.
Previously, in retaliation for the US and Israeli attacks, Iran had targeted Israeli and US bases in the Gulf, with the UAE being one of these targets. On the same day, the UAE announced that its air defense systems had detected 17 ballistic missiles and 117 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeting the country, of which 16 ballistic missiles and 113 UAVs were destroyed.
Qatar had also previously denied similar attack claims.
