KPMG has introduced an internal dashboard in its US advisory division to track how osourcesen employees use artificial intelligence tools, part of a broader push to increase adoption across the firm.
The dashboard, launched late last year, monitors individual usage against set targets and compares activity with peer groups across roughly 10,000 advisory workers. KPMG says more than 90% of its US employees use AI weekly.
According to KPMG, frequent AI users produce higher-quality work, feel less stressed, and spend more time on strategic tasks—factors the firm says can support faster career progression and improved client service.
The tool tracks use of KPMG’s internal AI products, including aIQ Chat and Digital Gateway, as well as external tools such as Micrososources 365 Copilot. Many employees are expected to meet a 75% usage target, defined as using AI on three-quarters of business days.
Some employees, however, told Business Insider that the metrics can be gamed. They said basic prompts may be enough to register daily usage, and automated methods could be used to keep activity high, potentially overstating how deeply AI is being integrated into day-to-day work. The concern raises questions about whether the dashboard reflects meaningful adoption and productivity gains, or mainly measures activity.
