S&P 500, Nasdaq Set Records as Futures Hold Steady

U.S. stock-index futures were little changed Tuesday night after the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite finished the regular session at record highs, led by a rally in technology shares. Futures tied to the S&P 500 were marginally higher, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 16 points, or less than 0.1%. Nasdaq 100 futures were near flat.
In Tuesday’s session, the S&P 500 rose 0.61% and the Nasdaq gained 1.19%, both posting fresh intraday and closing records. The Dow fell 118.02 points, or 0.23%, lagging the broader market.
Micron Technology was a key driver of the tech-led advance, with shares jumping 19%. The move lifted Micron’s market capitalization above $1 trillion for the first time, according to the figures cited in the report.
After-hours trading was more volatile for several individual names, as investors reacted to company guidance and corporate announcements.
After-hours moves: Zscaler guidance, Insulet correction
Zscaler shares dropped 19% in extended trading after the company’s current-quarter revenue guidance of $875 million to $878 million fell short of analyst expectations of $879 million.
Insulet shares fell 8% after the company announced a voluntary medical device correction for specific lots of its Omnipod pods.
Dell in focus after price-target hike
Separately, Melius Research raised its price target on Dell Technologies to $380 from $245 ahead of the company’s fiscal first-quarter earnings report. The firm said it expected shares to rise nearly 25% from current levels.
Investors will continue to watch whether the technology-led momentum can extend, along with company earnings and guidance that could shape expectations for the weeks ahead.
