The deportation occurred despite prior authorization for her travel to the country, according to the Foreign Press Association. While no official reason was provided by Israeli authorities, Israeli Minister for Diaspora Affairs Amichai Chikli stated on social media that Froussard supported Hamas and contextualized the October 7, 2023, attacks.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged Israel's legal right to deport Froussard while confirming its support for her.
