MSP Airport Faces Continued Cancellations

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) experienced ongoing flight cancellations on Monday, March 15, 2026, following a weekend blizzard. As of 6 a.m. Monday, 41 arriving flights and 19 departing flights were canceled. This follows over 660 cancellations at MSP Airport during the blizzard over the preceding weekend.

Despite the cancellations, the airport's flight tracker indicated that 429 flights were scheduled to depart on time and 415 flights were expected to arrive on time. The Minnesota State Patrol reported 464 property damage crashes, one fatality, and 40 injury-related crashes on Minnesota roads between Friday midnight and Monday midnight due to the weather conditions. Additionally, 46 spinouts, 651 cars off the road, and 19 jackknifed semi-trucks were recorded.

Travel conditions were expected to improve, particularly in southern Minnesota, with highs in the mid-teens in the Twin Cities. However, breezy conditions and blowing snow were anticipated in open areas. Another storm system was forecast to bring an additional one to two inches of snow late Tuesday. MSP Airport projects serving over 3.3 million people during a five-week spring break period concluding on April 6.
