CPSC recalls 2,140 ONTHEWEI infant bath seats
The products were sold on Amazon in April for $40 to $50, and federal regulators told consumers to stop using them and seek refunds.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 2,140 ONTHEWEI baby bath seats, the New York Post reported Oct. 12, citing a CPSC notice issued last week.
The action matters because the seats were sold for use with infants through Amazon in April for $40 to $50, putting an online marketplace product into a federal recall process.
“The recalled bath seats violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats because they are unstable and can tip over while in use, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to drowning,” the CPSC notice said. A mandatory standard is a federal safety rule that covered products must meet.
The affected seats were sold under the ONTHEWEI brand in gray, pink, blue and mist green, according to the notice. They have detachable restraint arms and suction cups on the underside, the New York Post reported.
Consumers can identify the recalled item by checking the label on the back of the seat. The affected products are marked “Model No: MY002” and “Date of manufacturer: 2026/1/10,” according to the notice.
The CPSC told consumers to stop using the seats immediately and contact ONTHEWEI for a full refund. The agency’s instructions require consumers to write “RECALLED” on the front of the product, remove the back rest and arm restraints, cut the three suction cups underneath and send a photo of the destroyed seat to the company.
The article did not report any injuries or incidents tied to the bath seats. It also did not say whether the products remained available after the recall notice, identify the seller account used on Amazon or give the manufacturer’s location.
The New York Post reported that ONTHEWEI and Amazon did not immediately respond to FOX Business requests for comment. The supplied report did not include a separate statement from either company or any additional enforcement action beyond the CPSC recall notice.
The recall is small in unit terms but serious in risk category. Infant bath seats are used in water, where instability can quickly create a safety hazard, and the regulator’s notice centers on whether the product meets the federal rule for that category.
For owners, the known next step is procedural rather than legal or financial. They are being directed to stop use, document destruction of the bath seat as the CPSC notice describes and request reimbursement from ONTHEWEI.
