The Kansas City Chiefs signed tight end Mason Pline to the active roster on Wednesday, filling a vacancy created by the recent trade of tackle Wanya Morris to the Atlanta Falcons. Pline, an undrafted free agent from the 2024 class, joins the organization following a successful tryout during the team's minicamp earlier this month.
The acquisition follows a series of roster transitions for Pline, who previously spent time on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad and served as a waiver claim for the New Orleans Saints in August 2024. Despite his tenure with those organizations, Pline has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.
The addition of Pline provides depth to a tight end unit currently anchored by Travis Kelce, Noah Gray, and Jared Wiley. The team utilized the roster spot vacated by the Morris trade, requiring no further adjustments to the existing 2025 personnel structure. Pline is expected to compete for a reserve role during upcoming training sessions as the team prepares for the next phase of the offseason program.
