BTS Arirang Tour Concerts Head to Global Cinemas

K-pop sensation BTS will screen two South American concerts from its upcoming ARIRANG world tour in cinemas across more than 80 countries and regions. These global cinema events will feature performances from Buenos Aires and São Paulo, offering fans worldwide access to the live experience.

BTS Concerts to Screen Globally

BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the screenings will showcase the October 24 concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the October 30 concert in São Paulo, Brazil. These events aim to replicate the live concert atmosphere, utilizing large screens and enhanced sound systems in theaters.

Ticket Sales Begin September 17

Tickets for the worldwide screenings become available on September 17. Sales in Korea will commence at 10 AM local time, followed by global sales at 10 PM on the same day. Audiences in Korea, other parts of Asia, and Australia will view the concerts one to two days after the live performances, depending on local time zones.

Extensive Global Reach Planned

The cinema events are projected to take place in approximately 3,800 theaters across the more than 80 participating countries and regions. In Korea, major cinema chains including CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox will host the screenings. This broad distribution strategy follows previous successful live viewing events held by BTS in cities like Goyang, Busan, and Tokyo.

ARIRANG Tour Schedule

The ARIRANG world tour itself includes 14 concerts across five South American cities, beginning in October. The tour itinerary spans Bogotá, Colombia; Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil. Specifically, the Buenos Aires concerts are scheduled for October 21, 23, and 24 at Estadio Único de La Plata, while the São Paulo shows are set for October 28, 30, and 31 at Estádio do MorumBIS.

Fan Engagement and Industry Impact

The decision to broadcast live concert footage to cinemas reflects a growing trend in the entertainment industry. This strategy maximizes reach and revenue beyond traditional concert venues. It allows artists like BTS to engage a larger global fanbase, particularly those unable to attend live shows due to geographical or logistical constraints. For the film exhibition industry, these events provide alternative content streams, drawing audiences to theaters for non-film programming.

The success of these cinema screenings could influence future tour strategies for major musical acts. This model offers a scalable way to monetize global fandom, creating a significant revenue stream for artists and production companies while offering fans an immersive, communal viewing experience.
