BlackRock GIP Forms $30 Billion Infrastructure Partnership

BlackRock's Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) announced on Thursday a new infrastructure partnership with Singapore's Temasek, Abu Dhabi's L’IMAD wealth fund, and state oil firm ADNOC. This collaboration aims to target $30 billion in infrastructure investments across the Gulf and Central Asia, with select opportunities in the wider Middle East and North Africa region.

The partnership will raise both equity and debt capital to finance greenfield and brownfield infrastructure assets. Investment sectors include energy, transportation, and logistics. The firms did not disclose a specific fundraising timeline or the equity distribution among the founding partners.

This initiative follows BlackRock's 2024 acquisition of GIP, valued at approximately $12.5 billion. The collaboration highlights continued global investor interest in the United Arab Emirates and the broader region, driven by strong macroeconomic fundamentals and a growing pipeline of investment opportunities. A separate $15 billion investment pipeline for infrastructure projects was also announced in Abu Dhabi this week to attract private funding.
