BlackRock has reportedly discussed investing between $5 billion and $10 billion in SpaceX's upcoming initial public offering (IPO) next month, according to a report by The Information on Saturday, citing sources familiar with the matter. This potential investment would originate from BlackRock's $536 billion in actively managed funds. SpaceX is targeting a capital raise of approximately $75 billion at a valuation of around $1.75 trillion, which could position it as the largest stock market flotation to date. The final investment amount from BlackRock remains subject to SpaceX's IPO pricing and other pre-deal factors.
SpaceX is aiming to list its shares as early as June 12, with the Nasdaq selected as the trading venue for its market debut. BlackRock declined to comment on the report, and SpaceX did not respond to inquiries. This development underscores significant institutional interest in the space exploration company's public offering.
