Apple to Pay $250 Million to Settle U.S. Lawsuit Over Siri and Apple Intelligence Advertising

Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a U.S. class-action lawsuit that alleged the company overstated the capabilities of Siri and its Apple Intelligence features in advertising.
The proposed settlement, which still requires judicial approval, covers U.S. consumers who bought certain iPhone models between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. Eligible devices listed in a settlement filing include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
According to the filing, payments are expected to be calculated on a per-device basis. Individual payouts could range from $25 to as much as $95 per device, depending on the number of claims and other administrative factors.
Apple did not admit wrongdoing as part of the agreement. The lawsuit alleged the company’s 2024 and 2025 marketing for Siri and Apple Intelligence amounted to false advertising and violated consumer protection laws.
