Anthropic Projects 80-Fold Growth Amidst AI Demand Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, announced on Wednesday that it anticipates an 80-fold increase in its growth this year, significantly exceeding its initial projection of 10 times. This projection was made by CEO Dario Amodei at the company's annual developer conference in San Francisco. The accelerated growth rate, driven by high demand for its AI products like the Claude chatbot and Claude Code, has intensified Anthropic's need for computing power.
To address this demand, Anthropic has secured a deal with SpaceX to utilize the entire computing capacity of SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center in Memphis. This agreement provides Anthropic access to over 220,000 Nvidia AI chips and opens possibilities for future collaborations on space-based AI data centers. The company's annual revenue run rate surpassed $30 billion last month, an increase from $9 billion at the end of 2025.
The influx of computing power from the SpaceX deal will enable Anthropic to expand the coding limits for its Claude Code subscribers. This development follows recent investment commitments from Google, totaling up to $40 billion, and Amazon, up to $25 billion, both long-term investors in the AI startup.
