Alpha Compute buys 300 acres in Pennsylvania

Alpha Compute said it has acquired more than 300 acres in Pennsylvania, securing surface and subsurface rights to support an AI data-center expansion. Reaction pending.

300 acres in Pennsylvania

Alpha Compute said it executed definitive real estate and asset purchase agreements that include surface, mineral and gas rights covering land across the Utica and Marcellus shale. The company said the agreements grant control of subsurface access as well as surface parcels aimed at future data-center development.

The land and rights expand the company's site optionality for colocated infrastructure. If Alpha Compute proceeds with on-site generation or direct fuel supply, holding subsurface and gas rights could reduce reliance on third-party energy contracts and alter long-run operating costs; it could also add steps to permitting and community engagement before construction begins.

For shareholders, the transaction is a strategic, slow-burning asset play rather than an immediate revenue source. The acquisition increases capital commitments and stretches the timeline between land purchase and any contribution to earnings, while giving the company greater control over site-level energy choices that matter for large AI workloads.

Investors will watch whether Alpha Compute files development plans or permitting applications by December 31, 2026; that milestone will signal whether the site move shifts from option to active project.
