High School Stabbing Injures Six

Six Injured in High School Stabbing Six individuals, including five students and one security guard, sustained injuries in a stabbing incident on Thursday afternoon at Foss High School in Tacoma, Washington. Authorities reported that the event stemmed from an "altercation." The Tacoma Fire Department responded to an "active assault" report shortly after 1:30 p.m. local time.

Four students initially presented with critical stab wounds, according to Chelsea Sheperd, a Fire Department spokeswoman. A security guard and an additional student, identified as a suspect, also received injuries and were transported to a hospital. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody. By 4 p.m. local time, all injured parties were reported to be in stable condition.

The incident occurred on the school campus, though the exact location within the premises was not immediately specified. MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital and MultiCare Allenmore Hospital admitted patients related to the stabbing. The school initiated a lockdown, and parents were notified if their children were involved. This incident follows a fatal shooting at the same high school in January 2007.
