Russia says drones hit Kyiv-area warehouse

Russian officials said Geran drones struck a warehouse complex near Kyiv, while Ukrainian authorities confirmed a drone attack caused a fire in the Bucha district without verifying Moscow’s description of the site.

The Russian Defence Ministry said the Gostomel facility held military cargo intended for Ukrainian forces. Ukrainian authorities said only that a warehouse fire followed the drone strike. Claims about the contents of the warehouse, including local accounts that sunflower oil was stored there, remain unverified.

Lavrov keeps campaign active

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in New Delhi that Russia remains open to negotiations but would not suspend military operations while any talks are underway. Officials framed the position as a lesson from earlier negotiating rounds, when Moscow says pauses did not produce an agreement.

The statement ties diplomacy to continued battlefield pressure. If Moscow maintains strikes while talks are discussed, Ukraine faces the prospect of negotiating while defending logistics sites and front-line positions. If contacts stall, the same posture gives Russia a rationale to continue operations without presenting that as a break from diplomacy.
