Formula 1 will commence a 10-year tenure in Madrid this weekend, marking the transition of the Spanish Grand Prix from the permanent Barcelona circuit to a new urban venue. The new circuit, located near the city’s primary airport, integrates public transport networks including and commuter rail lines to mitigate logistical challenges common to traditional, remote racing venues. From a technical perspective, the track features a hybrid design combining stop-start street sections with purpose-built, high-speed segments.
