Paramount+ Plans 'Teen Mom' Documentary

Paramount+ and MTV are developing a documentary centered on the "Teen Mom" and "16 & Pregnant" reality television franchises, with production in early stages and participant recruitment underway. This internal project aims to provide a cast-driven retrospective on the shows' cultural impact and cast members' experiences.

The initiative is a strategic response to a separate, potentially critical documentary being produced by an outside company, the same team behind "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV." Paramount's goal is to release its own documentary before the competing project, thereby controlling the narrative surrounding the franchises.

This move also serves as a test project for Paramount's new ownership, intended to demonstrate the continued audience engagement and value of the "Teen Mom" and "16 & Pregnant" brands. The internal documentary is not yet filming.
