SpaceX Eyes Staggering $2 Trillion IPO Valuation

SpaceX is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) $1.75 trillion and $2 trillion . If that range is achieved, it would be the largest IPO on record and would place the aerospace and space-transport company in the small group of firms with market capitalizations above $1 trillion .

According to the report, SpaceX has confidentially filed for the offering and is targeting proceeds of up to $75 billion . The company is widely known for its reusable rocket systems and for Starlink , its satellite internet service, both of which have helped make SpaceX one of the most closely watched private companies globally.

The same report said that in 2025 SpaceX posted a profit of $8 billion on revenue of about $16 billion . On the proposed valuation, the implied pricing would be steep by conventional measures: at $1.75 trillion , the stock would trade at roughly 219 times trailing earnings and more than 109 times trailing revenue, based on the figures cited. Market participants described that level as substantial even for a company viewed as having strong growth prospects.

A notable feature highlighted in the report is the plan to allocate up to 30% of the offering to retail investors . That share is described as about three times the typical level, and it could amplify day-to-day trading activity given the company’s high profile and the public following of its founder, Elon Musk .

Some market observers said the IPO could take on “meme stock” dynamics, pointing to the combination of a large narrative, a loyal investor base, and a valuation that may reflect expectations about future potential more than current financial fundamentals. The report also noted that investors are being urged to weigh the possibility of sharp volatility, with some analysts suggesting that waiting for post-IPO lock-up periods could offer more attractive entry points.
