Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a U.S. class action lawsuit that accused the company of false advertising over delayed Siri features.
The lawsuit focused on advanced, personalized Siri capabilities that Apple previewed in June 2024, including improved contextual understanding and on-screen awareness. Apple later delayed the rollout of those specific features in March 2025. In a statement cited in court documents, Apple said settling the case would allow it to stay focused on product development.
Who is eligible
Under the proposed settlement terms described in court documents, U.S. residents who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 model between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, can submit a claim.
Potential payout
The settlement anticipates payments of $25 per eligible device. The per-device amount could rise to as much as $95 depending on the total number of claims submitted.
How to file a claim
A settlement website is expected to launch within the next few months with an online claims form. Eligible class members are expected to be notified by email within about 45 days, according to court documents.
When the features may launch
On an earnings call last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the personalized version of Siri is expected to be released this year. It is expected to be part of upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 updates.
