Princess Kate Modifies Alcohol Consumption

Catherine, Princess of Wales, revealed a lifestyle adjustment regarding alcohol consumption on Thursday, March 12, 2026, during a visit to Fabal Beerhall in London. The Princess stated that she has significantly reduced her alcohol intake since her cancer diagnosis two years prior, emphasizing a conscious decision to prioritize her health.

This modification follows her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, after which she began a course of preventative chemotherapy. Medical organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), link alcohol consumption to various cancer types, such as breast, colorectal, esophageal, liver, and mouth/throat cancers. The CDC reports over 20,000 alcohol-related cancer deaths annually in the U.S.

Medical professionals, such as Dr. Philippe Spiess, a urologic oncologist, support reducing alcohol intake as a measure to control health outcomes, particularly for individuals with a cancer history. The Princess announced her remission in January 2025 and plans a gradual return to royal duties.
