Oracle Corporation's stock (ORCL) increased by 13.3% to 127.50 in after-hours trading on Tuesday, June 11, following the release of its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report. The company reported adjusted earnings of $1.63 per share on revenue of $14.29 billion for the quarter ending May 31. This performance exceeded analyst expectations, which had projected earnings of $1.62 per share on revenue of $14.55 billion.
The revenue figure represents a 3% year-over-year increase. Cloud revenue, a key growth area, rose by 20% to $5.3 billion. Oracle's strategic focus on artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure contributed to this growth, with the company securing significant cloud infrastructure deals during the quarter. These deals included a large contract with Google and an agreement with OpenAI to extend its cloud services.
For the full fiscal year 2024, Oracle reported adjusted earnings of $5.56 per share on revenue of $52.96 billion, marking a 6% increase in revenue compared to the previous year. The company anticipates continued strong demand for its AI-related cloud services, projecting double-digit revenue growth for fiscal year 2025.
