Lithuanian airspace incursion
Officials said allied fighters intercepted the drone and shot it down over Lithuanian territory. The defence ministry characterised the event as an airspace violation and said allied command structures were notified.
Officials declined to attribute the drone to any actor, saying forensic and radar analysis were under way. Lithuania borders Russia and Belarus and hosts NATO air policing rotations, a configuration officials say is intended to deter and respond to such incursions. The ministry said it was coordinating with alliance partners on the technical investigation and sharing of radar data.
