Kanye West returns to U.S. concerts at SoFi Stadium

Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, returned to a full-scale U.S. concert on Wednesday night, staging his first complete domestic live show since 2021 at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles. The appearance was presented as part of a two-night run connected to his new album, “Bully” . Organizers framed the engagement as a major step in his effort to reset his public image after a period marked by antisemitic and racist controversies.

The show placed Ye on a futuristic, orb-like stage and mixed new songs with older, widely recognized tracks. The venue, a 70,000-seat stadium, appeared largely full, according to observations from the event. Fans were heard chanting “Yeezy,” and merchandise sales were visible during the night.

The concert followed a January apology published in The Wall Street Journal , in which Ye addressed past antisemitic behavior. That earlier episode had contributed to the loss of major commercial partnerships, including a deal with Adidas, as companies moved to end relationships amid the backlash. In the same context, Ye attributed his prior conduct to untreated bipolar I disorder.

Ye is scheduled to perform a second night in Los Angeles, extending the two-date engagement tied to “Bully” . Beyond the U.S. dates, he also has upcoming performances listed in England, Italy, and Spain, indicating a wider return to high-profile venues outside the United States as well as at home.

Reaction from civil society groups remained cautious. The Anti-Defamation League Los Angeles said apologies do not automatically erase a history of antisemitism, while also expressing hope that Ye uses his platform in a constructive way. The group’s comments underscored that public statements and live appearances can draw renewed scrutiny alongside fan support.
