The Spanish government approved the ambassador's recall on Tuesday. Consequently, Spain's diplomatic representation in Tel Aviv will now be led by a chargé d'affaires. This diplomatic maneuver follows a period of heightened friction, stemming from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's accusations of "genocide" against Israel and strong condemnations from Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.
