Military installations hit near Strait of Hormuz

Officials said the strikes followed a warning from the US Central Command that it was "positioned and prepared." Local statements described the targets as naval and base facilities tied to regional security operations. The actors who carried out the strikes were not named in initial briefings.

Officials emphasized there were no reported casualties and that damage assessments were ongoing. The area lies adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz, a major sea lane for energy and trade; shipping and insurers will monitor vessel routing and security notices in the hours after the attack.

If strikes remain confined to military infrastructure, then regional disruption may be limited to heightened patrols, temporary rerouting and higher insurance premiums for transits.
